Businesses & Corporations
Help give our families the 'hand up' that they need to attain homeownership and a safe, decent place to live.
Volunteer groups are drawn to the 'Habitat Experience' not only because of the urgent need for affordable housing in our community, but also for the extraordinary hands-on opportunity that it provides.
Participation with Habitat is very much about community-building, among your own group as well as within Greater Plainfield. Many people appreciate the opportunity to 'give back', and view volunteering with Habitat as a rewarding experience.
We have several ways for your group to partner with us. Whether it's one day or committing to a full house, make a difference and help us build it!
House Sponsorships:
Individuals, corporations and foundations can chose to fully or partially fund a house for a family in need. Each House Sponsor is also given the opportunity to become involved in the family’s journey towards homeownership through "first choice” or priority scheduling. House Sponsors help offset the cost of our homes to varying degrees and are integral in fulfilling our mission.
Please refer to our 2011 House Sponsorship Plan for more details.
To become a sponsor of any level, please email home@gphabitat.org for more info.
Adopt-A-Day:
Corporate, church, or community groups can join us on a Friday or Saturday for a day of building. Greater Plainfield Habitat receives a donation of $2,500 for each adopted work day and can accommodate 10-15 volunteers.
Adopt-A-Day provides an opportunity for corporate employees to work on site without the commitment of a home sponsorship. Your company sends 10 employees per day to work on site, and provides funding of $2,500 per day. Workdays are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.
As an Adopt-A-Day participant, your group's contribution helps to offset the cost of one day of building a Plainfield Habitat home. Funds can be raised by individuals, companies, matching funds or through other grants. If your group is unable to donate at this level, please contact us to discuss other giving options. We will help with creative ways to identify and secure resources.
Aside from the natural team building experiences of building on a Habitat site, Adopt-A-Day participants will receive recognition in the Greater Plainfield Habitat newsletter and annual report. Adopt-A-Day groups also receive first choice for scheduling opportunities. Most importantly, your group will leave with the knowledge that they've spent the day helping a deserving family achieve homeownership.
