Where We Build
Since 1989, 33 homes have been built by Plainfield Habitat scattered throughout the City of Plainfield, all built 100% by volunteers using tax deductible donations of money and materials. This past summer, Plainfield Habitat broke ground on its 34th home in Plainfield on East Sixth Street.
Moving forward, Greater Plainfield Habitat for Humanity aims to transform neighborhoods block-by-block using a holistic approach.
We desire to join residents, nonprofits, businesses, local government and the faith community to create and implement a shared vision of revitalization. As a continuation of our investment in the City of Plainfield, we seek to build single-family homes on vacant, abandoned lots and to acquire single-family renovations of a foreclosed, unoccupied homes.
We believe strongly—together, Greater Plainfield Habitat for Humanity, Plainfield’s residents and local partners can change the face of this city’s neighborhoods and the lives of the families who live here—forever.
